Books, Cleaning, Crocheting, and Toes

Thu Jul 9, 2009, 10:24 AM
  • Mood: Cheerful
  • Listening to: Beyonce - Crazy in Love
  • Reading: Archmage of the Universe/Christine Morgan
  • Watching: Family Guy Season 3 DVD
  • Playing: Pathfinder RPG and Wild West RPG
  • Eating: Ben & Jerry's (it's summer, dammit!)
  • Drinking: Decaf iced tea
It's past time for a new journal! So here's what new with me.

1) Our first book will be hitting the streets August 13th! We approved the final version this week, complete with ISBN, and have sent a couple copies to a distributor in hopes of being picked up by them. :fingerscrossed:

2) We are feverishly working on our second book, and trying very hard not to get distracted by books 3, 4, and beyond. :omfg: Too many ideas and not enough hours in the day...

3) In hopes of getting rid of even more distractions, I'm in the process of cleaning/re-organizing our home office (I'm taking a break to write this!). :phew:

4) I'm still crocheting in my downtime! I just finished a commission and am working on a few smaller things right now. I'll have some more pictures up soon.

5) I had some minor toe surgery a little over two weeks ago to remove an ingrown nail. I never said anything here because it wasn't a huge deal and it's really not worth getting sympathy over (though it sure did hurt!). It's been a slow healing process and you never realize how much you use your toes until you have to try not to bump one of them. :cries: I'm just very thankful I haven't been my usual klutzy self and dropped anything on it! It's finally feeling better and healed up enough that I can start leaving it unwrapped part of the day, which is a relief.

6) I'm tired of the heat of summer, and it's not even that hot yet. :bleh: I would say winter can come anytime, but I want my toe to heal first since all I can wear until it's healed are flip-flops.

7) Robert and I joined a Wild West RPG at our game club and I'm having the time of my life playing a madam!

That's it for now! :D

deviantID

Hi everyone! I'm a 30-something Montanan by way of North Dakota. I am currently self-employed as a tabletop fantasy game designer. What am I doing on dA? I am a fiber artist, working in the mediums of crochet and embroidery, and I sell my wares by commission as well as in my Etsy shop. I'm also a huge art appreciator, of everything from manga and fantasy art to nature and nude photography. If I like it, I fave it!

You never have to thank me for faving your deviations! Everyone appreciates getting faves, and I know you're thankful. If you were going to take the time to come by my page and leave a "thank you" message, I'd much rather you use that time to look through my gallery and see if there's anything there you like enough to fave or at least comment on. And likewise, that's what I do if you fave something of mine. I know saying "thank you" is the polite thing to do, but it's so easy to get bogged down in sending "thank you" messages that you don't have time to look at people's art anymore!

That said, I will just about always respond to comments left for me! I'm here for the art and the conversation! :D
