I just got word that this gift arrived at its destination, so I can post it now without spoiling any surprises! 
I made this hooded baby afghan for
's new baby girl, Abby. It's the same pattern I've used for all the other baby blankies in my gallery, but I finally decided to put the hood on it. OMG! Too cute! Made me wish I was little again so I could have a hooded blanket. 
I could enter this in the current
knitting or crocheting on a budget contest, because it really is an affordable project. You need one ball of Lion Brand Pound of Love baby worsted weight acrylic yarn, which costs only about $7.50 regular price. It's a lot of bang for the buck! Of course any other ww yarn works too.
