No, I'm not running out of stuffed animals to model my baby blankets. But I did think this one would photograph better laid out on the floor.
I made this on commission for our friend Jude (one of Robert's co-workers) who will be giving this to the new baby boy of one of her friends. She asked me to make it in green and yellow like a John Deere tractor. Now, being a farm girl, I'm all about John Deere Green! But just green and yellow together screams Green Bay Packers, and as a Minnesota Vikings fan, that color combo makes my blood flow backwards. So I decided to add a touch of black to make the trim on the blanket look like the tire on a John Deere. It turned out pretty cool, if I do say so myself.
(the white spot on the edge on the right-hand side is something on my camera lens, not on the blanket)
Made from Red Heart Super Saver in Paddy Green and Black, and Caron One Pound in Sunflower, all worsted weight acrylics, with a size J Boye aluminum crochet hook. Finished size is about 37" square.
And I have now made three baby blankets in a row! I'm going to have to find something else to make for a while, my brain will revolt if I make another baby blanket right away...
Thanks Kim! I was really happy with how it turned out. Robert was supposed to take it to Jude today but when I got up (I slept in, heh) it was still on the table. Tomorrow I better supervise him as he goes out the door to make sure he takes it!

OMG my husband forgets stuff I want him to take to work all the time. I have to be up to make sure he does take it. I hate it when I bake something for the office and he forgets and on a day like a Friday so then we are stuck with it all. LOL

It must be a husband thing! Though I have to wonder if when they forget to take the baked goodies, are they really forgetting, or are they just wanting to keep it all at home so they don't have to share?!

Thanks so much! I was picturing it in my mind in just green and yellow, and it just didn't look right until I got the idea to add a little black. It makes the other colors pop!
